News and Noms: Sittin' on the Dock of the Bay
I’ll keep the words few because I am so in love with the pictures. I spent a wonderful day in the city with one of my closest and oldest friends, Leanne. We wanted to get to San Francisco before the Bay Bridge closures so we hopped on BART and ascended the musty stairs to the bright, crisp city air. We shopped around a bit, looking for fall clothes (our favorite!) for Leanne’s return to Seattle and my departure to London.
Then we walked the Embarcadero and stopped at Pier 39 for lunch at Chowders for some scrumptious seafood – a given anytime I’m home as it’s a considerable upgrade from land-locked Nashville.
Later we stocked up on a wide variety of saltwater taffy for a well-rounded taste-testing. Leanne and I staked out a spot overlooking Alcatraz and had our sweet treats. Flavors included: berries and cream, frosted cupcake, carmel apple, banana cream pie, orange cream, vanilla, hot chocolate, maple, cinnamon roll, peppermint, and chocolate
Leanne, I am SO grateful for you. It has been my joy to laugh, cry, learn, and live by side-by-side with you for the past 15 years. I love you, sweet friend!
Hope y’all have some sweet friends in your life as well; and maybe a city half as beautiful as my San Francisco.
Love and taffy,
